This week, in our Stars in Kanjivarams section, we feature a star who is well – known for her preference for Kanjivaram Saris for all public appearances. A singer & now actor, Usha Uthup stuns us in her choice of saris for the cover page and cover article of Good Housekeeping, August 2012.
Well known for her trademark Kanjivaram sari and big bindi, she is one of the most popular voices in India. She has many Bollywood and International songs to her credit and has sung in 16 Indian languages. Her husky and mesmerizing voice has struck a chord with the masses and always managed to hold them captive. Known to be a dynamic and energetic personality, Usha Uthup continues to be one of the most beautiful and unique voices of India.
On the Good Housekeeping, India cover, her radiant and youthful look, belies her 64 years! She carries off a simple sari with utmost grace and adds that extra zing with a purple brocade blouse and matching jewellery.
Jazz, Pop and Kanjivarams come together for only one person – Usha Uthup.
